Peters and Lyle Take Top Small Tour Honors At AGDF CDI

Wellington, Fla.—Feb. 11

Steffen Peters is used to leading the victory gallop in the Adequan Global Dressage Festival stadium, but with his top horse Legolas 92 now being piloted by Dawn White-O’Connor this weekend, and his Grand Prix horse Rosamunde finishing second and third in the CDI*****, he got the chance to do it on a new horse.

With Four Winds Farm’s Bailarino, Peters topped the CDI*** Prix St. Georges (72.71%) on Thursday. He also finished third in the Intermediaire I (72.36%) yesterday and second in the Intermediaire I freestyle today (75.10%).

Jorst and Kastel's Nintendo Sweep CDI*** Grand Prix And Freestyle At AGDF

Wellington, Fla.—Feb. 11

Charlotte Jorst has been working hard to be competitive on the Wellington circuit with Kastel’s Nintendo since she decided to focus on the Grand Prix level a few years ago, and this year it’s been paying off.

In the last two weeks, she’s picked up three blue ribbons, her first at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival with the 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion.

Lars Petersen's Mariett Retires At AGDF

Wellington, Fla. - Feb. 11   

It came full circle last night at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival when Lars Petersen's top Grand Prix horse Mariett retired in the ring where she's won so much.

Owned by the Danish rider and Marcia Pepper, the 19-year-old Danish Warmblood mare (Come Back II-Zendi, Sydney) has topped the earnings list at AGDF, taking home more than $200,000 over the last five years.

Graves Earns Her First AGDF CDI***** Grand Prix Freestyle Win

Wellington, Fla.—Feb. 11

Laura Graves earned her first 80 percent score in the Fédération Equestre Internationale Grand Prix test on Thursday at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, and last night she experienced another first in her career with Verdades—winning a five-star Grand Prix freestyle.

The pair earned an 82.00 percent ahead of Tinne Vilhelmson Silfven on Paridon Magi (77.45%) and Steffen Peters on Rosamunde (77.32%).

Graves Earns The Elusive 80 Percent At AGDF CDI***** Grand Prix

Wellington, Fla.—Feb. 9   

While only a handful of combinations in the world have reached the elusive 80 percent mark in the Fédération Equestre Internationale Grand Prix test, Laura Graves knew from the time she started competing at the level that Verdades was capable, it was just a matter of time.

With her eye on the prize for the last three years, Graves has slowly raised her average score with the 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding.

Martin Earns A Three-Peat At $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase

Wellington, Fla.—Feb. 5

If you wanted to win today’s $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase, you had to be fast and take chances, and Boyd Martin is the master of that strategy.

A two-time winner of the showcase, Martin was confident of his chances coming into the event with Welcome Shadow, whose last event was the twisty, turny four-star track at Pau in France last fall.

Little and RF Scandalous Remain On Top After Show Jumping At $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase

Wellington, Fla.—Feb. 4  

Richard Jeffery’s show jumping course proved influential this morning at the $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase, but overnight leaders Marilyn Little and RF Scandalous jumped double-clear to maintain their position.

A surprising three rails down, all in the final line, dropped second-placed Ryan Wood and Powell to 21st place, leaving the door open for Boyd Martin and Welcome Shadow to move into second.

Ringside Chat: Mark Todd's Enjoying Some Sunshine At The Wellington Eventing Showcase

He’s a legend of the sport and has seen it in all forms, so it was no surprise that Mark Todd took up the offer to ride at the $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase this year.

Todd, along with special guests William Fox-Pitt and fellow New Zealander Dan Jocelyn, have been giving a masterclass in catch riding this weekend, taking on two horses each.

We caught up with Todd for a quick chat after he’d finished an informative cross-country course walk with Fox-Pitt and two-time showcase winner Boyd Martin.
